I had wanted a small place of my own for a while: a few photographs, some short notes, and room to play with the atmosphere of the page. No mainland ICP filing, reachable from China, and still open to visual experiments later.
The stack stayed light. The site is static Astro with Tailwind, and writing lives in Markdown. The modules were fixed first — home, about, notes, photography, contact — so themes and effects can change without rebuilding the structure.
Hosting is on Cloudflare. The free temporary domain was blocked on Chinese mobile data; once lyanqi.cn was connected, it opened cleanly and felt fast enough. The domain was bought on Tencent Cloud, then pointed at Cloudflare for DNS, HTTPS, and the global CDN.
Other pieces arrived in layers: Chinese and English, a magazine-style photo grid, theme switches in the footer, and a first Three.js “drift” background that can be turned off. Effects sit in a swappable slot so they never get in the way of reading.
It feels less like a finished product and more like a shell that can grow. Posts and photographs can come later; the path is there when they do. This is the first note on the site — a small marker for the build itself.
